He was ten years old when he acted as Martin Luther King jr. in an episode captioned “A Night of Stars and Dreams by Dwight Woods”, and that was the moment he deem it fit to pursue a career in acting.
In a quest to pursue his desire to make an impact in the movie industry. he relocated to New York City in July 1996. However, it was not until the end of the year that he was auditioned for the part of Jett Jackson in his first official movie titled “The Famous Jett Jackson”..movie that was shot in 1999.
Disney Junior TV released the movie, and due to the fact they brought the full rights of the movie, it became their property. The movie was premiered in July 2001. A life-changing event Lee had after the cancellation of his debut movie “The Famous Jett Jackson”, Lee Thompson was cast in another movie in 2004 titled ” Friday Night Lights”, He was cast as Chris Come.
Lee Thompson career was on the rise as he continued to appear on TV shows like South Beach 2004, Scrubs 2004, Flash Forward 2005, Akeelah, the Bee 2007 and The Hills Have Eyes 2 2009.
The last role before the ugly incident happen was a movie he cast as a Boston police detective Barry Frost on the TNT police drama series Rizzoli & Isles. It was on August 19, 2013, that Young failed to show up for filming in an episode of Rizzoli & Isles, and later that day was found dead at his Los Angeles apartment.

Lee Thompson Young was a brilliant student, no wonder he graduated with first-class (Honors) from the University of Southern California, United States of America; he studied Cinematic Arts and was a prominent member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity 1990.
He also loves writing and wrote the screenplay for the 2008 short film Mano
On August 19, 2013, Lee Thompson Young died from a deadly disease (non-communicable disease). At the time of his death, he was a few months away from celebrating 30 years old. At the time of his death, he was survived by his large extended friends and family.
On August 19, 2013, Young failed to show up to film for an acting gig (Rizzoli & Isles). After his death, his family asked the Police to do a wellbeing check on him at his apartment I’m Los Angeles, United States of America; where they found his dead body. His close friend and personal assistant stated that Lee had committed suicide.
After the Police investigation, they gave feedback confirming the cause of his death as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Young had been diagnosed with a bipolar malfunction, for which he had been taking medication, and had been suffering from loneliness before his death.
