Paul Okoye who is popularly known under the stage name Rudeboy after he left Psquare, was born on November 18th, 1981. The native town of Paul Okoye is popularly believed to be Jos, but his family originates from Ifite, Dunu located in Anambra state.

Paul and his twin brother peter had their early education at st.murrumba secondary school which could be found in Jos after which he studied business administration at the University of Abuja. This school became the first place where he discovered his passion for music and stage.
Paul and his brother alongside other school friends formed an acapella group together which they called “MMMPP” after the first letters of the name of each member of the group. Eventually, they formed a dancing and singing group called “smooth criminals” and as for MMMPP, when one of the members left the name was then changed to MMPP this happened because M clef left the band.
Inspired by such a huge success, the two brothers went to the music school to learn to play various musical instruments including drums, keyboards, rhythm guitar, and bass. The boys were naturally endowed so there were no difficulties. Apart from being incredible dancers, they also have become great musicians. Paul Okoye worked together with his brother Peter at the multiple movie soundtracks, such as “Mama Sunday”, “Tobi”, “Evas River”, and “Moment of Bitterness”.
Before the separation of the duo, they both signed a record deal with Square Records, Akon’s label Konvict Muzik and Universal SA.
